This hand beaded pin is made of moose hide, glass cut seed beads, 24 karat gold plated beads, and fire-polished Czech glass beads. The moose hide background is hand-cured, tanned by a First Nations family in Canada.

The pin beadwork measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter. The earrings measure 1 3/4 inches in diameter. 18 karat gold plated hardware connects the earrings to gold plated, surgical steel hoops.

Black niimíipuu (Nez Perce) artist Kellen Trenal honors the craftsmanship of the tanned moose hide by allowing it to speak just as much as the sections embellished with specialty bead embroidery.
